Social and emotional learning (SEL) is an important aspect of education that is gaining momentum in schools across the country As educators increasingly recognize the crucial role that emotional intelligence plays in academic success, the integration of SEL into the classroom has emerged as a powerful tool for helping students thrive both academically and personally.
SEL is defined by the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) as the process through which individuals acquire and apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive social and emotional learning in the classroom.
