Troopers arrest subject charged with drug trafficking after traffic stop – Delaware State Police

Delaware State Police arrested a 30-year-old man Allan Stevens of Bear, DE on felony drug charges following an investigation that began Friday afternoon.

On August 5, 2022, at approximately 3:00 p.m., soldiers responded to the Governor’s Square Mall, located at 901 Governors Place in Bear, regarding a subject allegedly distributing narcotics from his vehicle at that location. Upon arrival, soldiers located a silver 2015 Dodge Challenger that was occupied by operator Allan Stevens. When troopers attempted to perform a traffic stop on Stevens, he ignored their orders and backed into a state police vehicle. Stevens then got out of his car and attempted to flee the scene on foot. Troopers gave chase and were able to arrest Stevens after a taser was deployed. A search for Stevens led to the discovery of approximately 15.31 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 8.27 grams of marijuana, and over $1,000 of suspected drug proceeds.

No soldiers were injured in this incident. Stevens was treated at a nearby medical facility for minor injuries. He was then transported to Troop 6, where he was charged with the following offences:

  • Possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a level 2 quantity (felony)
  • Possession of a controlled substance in a level 2 (felony) amount
  • Resisting arrest with force or violence (crime)
  • resist arrest
  • Disorderly conduct
  • Possession of marijuana

Stevens was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace of Court No. 2 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Facility on a guaranteed bond of $9,501.
