Traffic to adult websites increased more than 400% at this New York airport in August during flight delays, cancellations

STATEN ISLAND, NY — Many airline passengers have found a way to pass the time while waiting for a flight or when stuck in an airport for hours after a delay or cancellation.

In the first six months of 2022, about 2.8% of all scheduled flights in the United States were canceled and another 20.2% were delayed, according to flight tracking website FlightAware.

The Associated Press reported that more than 21,000 flights were canceled in June and 14,000 were canceled in July. And in early August, severe thunderstorms along the East Coast caused 1,500 flight cancellations and 3,700 delays.

This left airline passengers with plenty of time to watch pornography.

You read that right – according to CamSoda, an adult website that tracks user location data, people waiting for flights at airports watch porn to pass the time.

The “most exciting” airport of all? John F. Kennedy International Airport in Queens.

CamSoda website traffic at JFK International Airport increased 489% in August 2022 compared to an average year.

Newark International Airport was in the top 10, landing in ninth place – CamSoda’s website traffic increased 312% in August 2022 compared to an average year.

LaGuardia Airport, which was not in the top 10, also saw an increase in traffic to the adult website with a 406% increase in August 2022.

Website traffic also increased in July 2022 by 19% compared to July 2019.
