Two cities in North Texas are on Money magazine’s 2021 list of the top 50 places to live in the country, ranking above about 1,300 other cities.
Flower Mound came in 4th place and Frisco got 19th place.
To determine the rankings, the organization collected data on approximately 1,300 towns and villages with populations between 25,000 and 458,000. Cities with high crime, declining population, low median income, and low ethnic diversity were automatically eliminated.
The study analyzed nearly 100 different metrics in nine categories:
- Cost of life
- Economic opportunity
- The diversity
- Health and security
- Housing market
- Income and personal finances
- Quality of life
Flower Mound was awarded its fourth place because of its impressive job growth – the highest of some 1,300 cities analyzed.
âIts proximity to one of the largest cities in the Lone Star State is propelling this growth, but Flower Mound has a lot to offer,â Mallika Mitra wrote.
She added that her “small town feel” and perfect graduation rate was also attributed to her ranking, as well as recreational activities including camping, boating, hiking, horseback riding and her annual party. July 4.
No. 19 Frisco was primarily recognized for its prominent sports tourism industry.
The city is home to the Frisco RoughRider minor league baseball team and the FC Dallas football team.
