The Mumbai Metropolitan Area Development Authority (MMRDA) plans to link an under-construction Mumbai Trans Harbor Link (MTHL) road to the Mumbai-Pune highway to reduce travel time between Mumbai and Pune. The authority is currently looking for a consultant, who will prepare a detailed project report and decide on the appropriate articulation for it. The plan was almost ten years old, however, it could not be implemented due to the delay of the MTHL.

According to the officials, a tender has been issued for the appointment of the consultant for the “DPR Preparation for MTHL Connectivity to Mumbai Pune Expressway and as per the basic plan as the MTHL will land at Chirle in Navi Mumbai, a 6 km from the link will be connected to the highway.

The Bombay High Court on Wednesday ordered Jitendra Navlani, a builder and owner of a bar in South Mumbai, to report to the office of the Additional Police Commissioner (ACP) of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on March 4, regarding a circular lookout (LOC) issued against him in connection with corruption allegations against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh. The court also asked Navlani to provide full details of his planned visit to London for medical treatment and the phone numbers of his wife and two closest relatives to the police.

The Bombay High Court has upheld until March 7 interim protection from coercive measures granted to those arrested by Mumbai police for the death of MP Mohan Delkar. The court authorized the Mumbai police to record the statements of the defendants present in court. The court was holding a hearing on criminal writ pleas filed by the defendant challenging the FIR recorded by the police in the case.

The state government on April 27 last year had declared that it would not take any enforcement action against all the petitioners in view of the pandemic situation and the same has been going on from time to time.
