Syracuse 2022 basketball priority goal Chance Westry is changing prep school for his final year, though he remains on the West Coast.
The 6-foot-5 Westry, an elite combo guard, recently said via Twitter that he was transferring to Hillcrest Prep in Gilbert, Arizona. He had previously adapted to Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, California.
A native of Harrisburg, Pa., The four-star Westry attended Trinity High School in Camp Hill, Pa., Before competing for Sierra Canyon School.
According to the MaxPreps website, Hillcrest Prep posted a record 37-1 in the 2020-21 campaign. Another player on the Hillcrest Prep roster is 2022 center Duke Brennan.

Syracuse basketball target Chance Westry will be in Arizona for his final year of pre-ball.
Westry, who is universally regarded as a four-star prospect and a top 45 player in his class, recently paid an official visit to the Hill. He has made other official visits lately to Auburn, Nebraska and LSU too. There are also rumors online that Westry may be in line for a pro deal.
From a national rankings perspective, Rivals.com is currently the highest on Westry. This recruitment service places him 24th in the 2022 cycle, as well as 6th leader.
Recently updated 247Sports recruiting service its national ratings for the 2022 class, and Westry ranks 39th. By the way, the industry-generated 247Sports composite ranks it 32nd nationally.
ESPN also recently released a new version of its 2022 rankings. Westry was previously in his 50s, and now he’s No. 41, according to ESPN.
Syracuse basketball has long pursued Westry, offering him a scholarship about two years ago. He holds a ton of big deals, from teams like Michigan, Virginia, Connecticut, Louisville, Memphis, Georgetown, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, Miami, Florida, Maryland, Southern California, LSU, Auburn, Arkansas, Providence, St John’s, VCU, Georgia and Temple.
Westry is one of three 2022 leaders Orange is targeting. The other two are the four-star Quadir Copeland and JJ Starling from central New York.
If I had to rank them, I think the ‘Cuse is most likely to pick up Copeland, followed by Starling and Westry.
