Dale Claudel will lead the Energy Utilities segment as megatrends reshape global markets.
OVERLAND PARK, Kan., April 29, 2022 / CSRwire / — Black & Veatch today announced that it has appointed Laszlo von Lazar as President of its Energy & Process Industries (E&PI) business, following the transition earlier this month of Mario Azar as President and CEO-Elect. In the same vein, Dale Claudel, an industry veteran, has been selected by the company to lead its Energy Utilities segment within E&PI.
Joining Black & Veatch in 2019, von Lazar was named president of the company’s BV operations last year as part of a company-wide transformation. Since then, he has successfully established BV Ops and its critical role within the company’s global operating model. His experience in executing projects spans the company’s diverse customer base and geographies.
Previously responsible for global project services for the company’s Power business, he led engineering, procurement, construction, quality and commercial excellence. He has over 33 years of project experience worldwide, including four years with General Electric and 27 years with Bechtel Corporation, where he helped the E&PI business deliver its diverse portfolio of solutions to BV customers.

Claudel, an electric utility executive with 25 years of leadership experience, will join Black & Veatch on May 31, 2022. As a longtime leader for utility client Entergy, a generation, transmission company and distributed energy that provides electricity to 3 million utility customers. in the southern United States, Claudel brings extensive experience in security, business transformation, operations, compliance, engineering, capital projects and network modernization, all of which support Black & Veatch’s extensive portfolio of client solutions. He previously held several leadership positions for Entergy Corporation, most recently as Vice President, Network Modernization and Strategy. Prior to his strategic role, Claudel served as Vice President of Power Generation, as well as Power Plant Operations.

The company has named Barry Clegg as interim co-leader of BV Ops while a search is conducted for the role. Clegg, with 30 years of experience, is currently Vice President and Project Manager within the company’s E&PI business.
