PHOENIX – Those looking for work as the job market returns from the COVID-19 pandemic should look to the East Valley, according to a personal finance website.
WalletHub ranked 182 of the country’s largest cities as the best places to find a job in 2022, with two East Valley cities ranking in the top 20.
Scottsdale finished 8th overall, just ahead of Chandler who placed 16th.
Tempe, another town in East Valley, was just outside the top 20 with a No. 23 ranking, followed by Gilbert at No. 31.
Arizona cities were scattered throughout the top 100, with Glendale coming in at No.49, followed by Peoria (No.52), Mesa (No.61), Phoenix (No.75) and Tucson (No.88).
WalletHub compared cities on the labor market and socio-economy, with various measures examined under these two categories.
Among the measures were cities with the lowest unemployment rate and highest median income, which Scottsdale tied for first in both with six other cities on track to rank 7th in the labor market and ranked 17th in socio-economics.
Glendale was also determined to have the second highest job growth.
The best city in the country to find a job this year is Columbia, Maryland, according to WalletHub, while the worst was Gulfport, Mississippi.
